CoROM has been assisting in the placement of students in clinics and hospitals located in remote and challenging environments for over ten years.  We foster strong collaboration with teaching hospitals, ambulance services, and rural healthcare facilities to provide paramedics, nurses, medical students, and physicians with a unique and rigorous educational experience.  Our clinical placement programs offer valuable insights into healthcare delivery in low-resource settings.  You will witness the challenges and innovations in patient care firsthand, fostering both personal and professional growth.

The College of Remote and Offshore Medicine Foundation is a non-profit higher education institution based in Malta.  Founded in 2016, it is managed by a voluntary board made up of medical professionals and researchers from across the globe.  The College’s primary mission is to offer higher education programs specifically designed for remote and austere healthcare practitioners.  COROM features a robust network of teaching placements that are overseen by consultant doctors and registered nurses.  

We provide internship coordination, paperwork, visa advice, and guidance on packing, and what to expect. All travel costs are at the students’ expense. On arrival, you’ll be greeted with airport pickup and transported to your self-catered guest house.

Our in-country team provides round-the-clock support, including hospital introductions and local transport and any other assistance that may be required.
