ECG Interpretation: Zero to Hero

This comprehensive, clinically focused course is designed to take learners from basic understanding to confident interpretation of the 12-lead ECG. Developed for junior doctors and paramedics working in emergency and critical care settings, the course emphasises rapid, practical recognition of ECG patterns that matter at the bedside.

Across six structured chapters, participants will learn:

  • The fundamental principles of ECG recording and normal findings
  • A systematic approach to ECG interpretation
  • Recognition of conduction abnormalities and rhythm disturbances
  • Identification of common arrhythmias and life-threatening patterns
  • Detection and localisation of myocardial ischaemia
  • Recognition of key additional conditions including electrolyte disturbances, pericarditis, pulmonary embolism, and inherited syndromes

The course is built around a clear, step-by-step methodology, reinforced with numerous real ECG examples and practical clinical insights. Emphasis is placed on pattern recognition, clinical context, and decision-making in time-critical situations.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to interpret the majority of ECGs encountered in emergency practice with confidence, accuracy, and speed.
