Faculty Of Offshore & Maritime Medicine
OFFSHORE MARITIME MEDICINE
The OMM is dedicated to advancing medical education, standards, and practice in offshore, maritime, and remote maritime environments. It was established to address the distinct clinical, operational, and regulatory challenges physicians face when working at sea.
OMM provides evidence-based, practice-focused training that integrates maritime law, occupational health, emergency and critical care, public health, and remote medical decision-making. The College delivers academically rigorous, internationally relevant programs that reflect the realities of modern shipboard medicine, including prolonged care with limited resources, telemedicine support, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Through this approach, OMM supports ships' doctors in delivering safe, effective, and professionally accountable care across the global maritime domain.

OFFSHORE & MARITIME MEDICINE RESEARCH
The offshore and maritime medicine research projects are designed to generate applied, practice-relevant evidence addressing clinical care, operational readiness, and health system resilience in shipboard and offshore environments. These projects focus on prolonged care, telemedical support, occupational health, and regulatory interfaces, with the aim of informing education, policy, and clinical standards across the global maritime sector.
